"The Wildfires" is a young rock band formed in Alkmaar, consisting of four 19-year-old, passionate musicians. In the two years the band has been performing, countless stages (including Popweekend Schagen, Podium Victorie, and Mixtream Heerhugowaard) and pubs have been stormed by these young rockers. Their debut EP, "Sekhmet's Return," was released in November 2024, and they are working hard to expand their catalog.
"The Wildfires" drew inspiration from the classic rock sound of the '70s and '90s, developing their own unique sound with influences from bands like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. With screaming guitars, fat grooves, and swinging melodies, they were crowned the brilliant winners of Popmania 2025, proving that classic rock is still a Wildfire!
